Marble machinery producers who have been requesting to exhibit indoors in İzmir MARBLE Fair, has finally made their voices heard. Machinery producers will be able to exhibit indoors in İzmir MARBLE Fair starting from the next year. Mayor of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Aziz Kocaoğlu gave instructions to İZFAŞ General Manager Gül Şener for the construction of a closed area of 20 thousand square meters for natural stone machine producers to exhibit.
İzmir Marble is growing
İzmir Marble Natural Stone and Technologies Fair, one of the two biggest natural stone and technology fairs in the world, is growing by 20 thousand square meters. Natural stone processing machinery producers that used to exhibit in the open space will be exhibiting in the new 20,000 square meters of indoor area. TÜMMER President Raif Türk, Chairman of the Aegean Mining Exporters Association Mevlüt Kaya and the President of Natural Stone Machinery and Technology Producers Association Hilmi Konyalıoğlu gathered with the Mayor of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and İZFAŞ General Manager Gül Şener in order to evaluate Marble 2017 Fair and to discuss necessary steps to be taken in the coming years.
Mayor Kocaoğlu promised machinery producers a new indoor space
Chairman of TÜMMER Raif Türk, Chairman of Aegean Mineral Exporters Association Mevlüt Kaya and the Chairman of Natural Stone Machinery and Technology Producers Association Hilmi Konyalıoğlu stated that the natural stone machinery producer companies who have been exhibiting outdoors in the fair were affected by rain and wind and requested an open space for them. The Mayor of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, Aziz Kocaoğlu gave instructions to İZFAŞ General Manager Gül Şener for the construction of a closed area of 20 thousand square meters for natural stone machine producers to exhibit.
“Fair rental prices should be revised”
The increasing prices of exhibition stands in İzmir Marble Natural Stone and Technologies Fair has caused discomfort in the natural stone and machinery sector. TÜMMER President Raif Türk, President of EMİB Mevlüt Kaya and President of Marble Machinery Producers’ Association Hilmi Konyalıoğlu asked Mayor Aziz Kocaoğlu to keep booth prices in last years’ currency exchange rates. The presidents who stated that İzmir Marble Fair has became one of the two leading natural stone fairs in the last 23 years said that there are some people who will benefit from the weakening of İzmir Marble Fair and such a price increase will help them inadvertently. They, on behalf of the sector, requested the price increase to be cancelled. Mayor Kocaoğlu stated that the İzmir Marble Fair stand rental fees will be reconsidered in the Board of Directors of İZFAŞ in order to come to a point where both the sector and İZFAŞ can be satisfied.
