Located in Ahmedabad, India, Lakhani Villa was designed by INI Design Studio to combine the clean lines of contemporary minimalist architecture with the timeless beauty of natural stone. The beige and white sandstone that forms the main character of the structure, together with exposed architectural concrete, achieves a natural harmony, giving it both an aesthetic and lasting identity. The interaction of natural stone surfaces with light gives the villa a changing atmosphere and a sense of depth throughout the day.
Clean geometries, an open-plan layout, and balanced proportions reinforce the building’s serene and contemporary character. Large glass surfaces, stone walls, and transitions that blend with the landscape create a seamless connection between interior and exterior spaces. This relationship offers a peaceful experience immersed in nature at the heart of modern living.
Natural stone also takes center stage in the interior spaces. Italian marble floors, light-toned walls, and wooden details combine to create a warm, simple, and elegant unity. The natural texture of the stone lends the spaces both a sophisticated look and a calming atmosphere. Spacious living areas become an extension of nature with large glass surfaces opening onto the garden; the combination of stone, light, and greenery creates the architectural embodiment of tranquility.
Environmental sustainability is also a priority in the project. In addition to durable and natural materials, solar panels, LED lighting, and energy-efficient systems support the building’s ecological identity.
