Globe Stone – Dünya Taş Mining, one of the top trading companies in natural stone sector has been carrying out a social responsibility project named “Children of Turquoise” with the slogan, “Let’s Protect the Entrust of Our Martyr’s All Together,” in order to give support to the children of martyrs’, since May 2016. The company, aiming to make this a country-wide project with the support of the World Free Diving Record Holder Şahika Ercümen, who is sponsored by the company itself, and with the collaboration of İzmir Martyr Families Social Assistance and Solidarity Association, with the slogan “Growing from heart to heart” Within the context of this social responsibility project, in addition to Dünya Taş’s financial support, each company employee will give guidance to 100 martyr’s children throughout their education life, in order to help them reach their life goals. Önder Öztunalı, by adding 100 more children to the scope of this project, aims to increase the total number of children benefiting this project to 200 at the beginning of 2017 education season. Underlining the fact that the cost of 2 to 4 block marbles can afford 1 year education for 10 children, invites sectoral companies to give support to “Children of Turquoise Project”

The CEO of Globe Stone – Dünya Taş, Önder Öztunalı, who gives information about this project said: “In this volunteering based project, together with the outsourced supports, we give support to children in subjects such as specialist psychological counseling, education, career planning, orientation for sports and art and mentoring. We formed a platform, in which volunteer mentors and supporters who can guide our children and youth throughout their education and careers. Our martyrs gave their lives for this country. As a nation, we also have responsibilities in this regard. We, as the company and the employees of this company, want to touch the lives of our children with these supports. As Dünya Taş Family, we believe that this project is a project that will grow from heart to the heart. We want to give moral support for our children, with our business partners, environment, young people and with our experiences. For our martyrs who give their lives for this country, we have responsibilities as a nation. We want to be a platform that will touch our children’s and young people’s lives and create support for them to be self-confident, career-savvy and happy individuals in the society.
All Martyr’s children are hand in hand
Öztunalı said: “Let’s develop this project, which prepares the Children of Turquoise for life, all together. We aim to be a constantly growing platform that creates good opportunities for children and young people with the growing support of volunteers. In the project, which received the moral support of Erol Ayyildiz, the governor of Izmir, members of the Aegean Region Chamber of Industry (EBSO) are the full supporter of the project as volunteer guides. We are also proud that our national athlete and world free dive record holder Şahika Ercümen has been the face and very important supporter of the project from the very beginning. Ercümen, who opened Turkish flag under water on the occasion of August 30th Victory Day, made us happy once again by dedicating the 110 meters World Record of World Free diving to the memorial of our saint martyrs. With these volunteer supports, we are aiming to become a platform that creates good opportunities for our young people, and grows with a growing consensus.. Our main goal is to reach all martyr’s children in Turkey.”
