The 5th International Stone Congress, will focus on the adventure of natural stone as a geological heritage, from antiquity to today. Within the scope of the congress, presentations on natural stone design from the present to the future, the importance of stone in the design of contemporary architect, the cultural dimension of the stone, the innovative design methods in stone production and the use of stone in mosaic design will be presented. Besides the Congress, the ‘Natural Stone World Forum’ will be held with the participation of representatives from the leading companies in America, Spain, India, Iran, Brazil, Russia, China and Turkey. The playmakers of the sector that will meet within the scope of the Forum will make evaluations about their use in natural stones all over the world.
25th Izmir Marble Fair will be an international market
The İzmir Marble Fair, which is an international event introducing Turkish natural stone sector to the world, is also a bridge connecting the Middle East to the Western world. The exhibition as the common meeting point of both markets is an international market for foreign visitors and participants. The international pavilion, which was established for the first time in 2018 with the aim of further strengthening the national participation of the countries, will take place even with a higher participation this year. This year, there will be national participations by Afghanistan, Iran, India, Brazil, Iran and China. Iran will also set up a special block exhibition area in the block area. While Afghanistan and Iran will come to the forefront with their unique marble varieties, Brazil and India will have the opportunity to introduce boutique granite types with different color and pattern combinations in the fair. Design events will be the center of attentions
This year, there will be 3 workshops in Izmir Marble Fair. In the scope of the 5th International Stone Congress, a workshop on the use of stone and its design process will be conducted, while the Natural Stone Institute will prepare a workshop on the production of stones suitable for use. Apart from these, the “Designer Habitat Workshop” will be held for the first time this year. The Young Creative Ideas Platform, which is one of the important steps taken in the field of design, will be held for the second time in 2019. The platform, which offers different ideas for natural stone transformation, will strengthen the sector with new designs and encourage designers to make their designs for the international markets.
