Importance of R & D
SMM Mining representative Lütfi Kaya said: “In the first years of our operations, our Re & De team had searched for quarries. Among all the fields we had found, we decided to activate the ones from which we can acquire easy to process colours. We apply the decisions taken by the mining engineers and geological engineers working in our infrastructure.
3 different selections
Kaya said: “The potential reserve of the marble fields in Kazımkarabekir district of Karaman province is 28.000.000 m3. Our marble field is active since 2007. We produce blocks of Pasha Black, Pasha Grey and Pasha Ice Grey selection in our quarry. We feed our block production with polished-honed-brushed options of slabs, st slabs and cut to size products.”
”We should focus on market research and machine investment“
Stating that they have focused on international trade fairs and sales as a company, Kaya said: “We are planning to invest in machinery in the coming period. We are planning to attend Izmir, Bursa, China, Indonesia and India Fairs in 2019. I believe that we do not do market research correctly. This is the biggest mistake we have made in our country. We have to accelerate our research in other countries other than China and India. In order to be competitive, we have to invest in machinery equipment and reduce the costs down as much as possible.”
