Hello, as of this issue, we are starting a new column in our magazine. I will present you with unique stones and stories in every case. The highlight of this issue: Stella Unica.

While the world drifts into chaos, our soul seeks the simpler and plainer. Our imagination becomes even more colorful and diverse, as the clouds get darker. We are evolving towards a process in which people are imprisoned in their imagination. It will be difficult for the design to be perceived independently of this fashion process. What kind of reflection do we expect on design and taste?

There is a search for peace. Tranquility favors some simplicity. However, there is also chaos in the world. Concepts where these two are blended are candidates for trend. Think of it as a blending of reality and imagination. In addition, people will be intuitive to seek more freedom and depth/width in spaces confined to closed areas because a two-dimensional visual will further fuel the feeling of being stuck in people. Especially the fact that humanity, infused with all this pessimism, sets its eyes on space as a hope, cares more about the sky, and imposes the search for other planets to live on, isn’t this a symbol of shrinkage and escape? Space may come to our agenda more in the coming period, and it may be reflected in these designs.

When you meet someone new, sometimes there is a positive feeling you know from somewhere. Stella Unica is a stone from Muğla region of Turkey that you get that familiar feeling but is unique. It got its name from its resemblance to the surface of a photo frame from space, which it gives with its three-dimensional patch structure consisting of black, navy blue, gray and brown tones. The stone has a chaotic structure with both simplicity and complexity.

Today, to compete with ceramics, the sizes of marble slabs are getting bigger and bigger. Jumbo size has started to increase. The quarry also has an advantage in this respect. Blocks can be produced according to jumbo plate dimensions.

Although it is thought that the stone can be used in larger areas, it can be used in any place where marble is used, depending on the surface finish. As a surface, my favorite applications are deep leather and acid. Polished and honed looks good too.
