According to the announcement made by the General Directorate of Mining and Petroleum of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, 700 mineral fields will be opened for tender on the occasion that R & D and factory operations will be completed before operation. Aydın Dinçer, the President of İstanbul Mineral Exporters’ Association (İMİB) said: “We attach great importance to the continuation of the policies that increase production and pave the way for mineral producers. I believe that such important developments are of great benefit to increasing exports.”
“Establishment of Mineral Processing Plants Require Investment”
Dinçer said: “Long time is required for any mineral to be processed. All the procedures related to the establishment of mineral plants should be finalized with the offices of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources where the mineral affairs are being carried out. The Ministry opens various mineral fields for tender time to time. We, as the mineral producers, are waiting for these tenders. Each mineral producer bids for the field they are interested in and the ones who bid the highest takes the possession of the mineral field. However, it is not sufficient to win the bid to be able to start operation in the field. You should receive the necessary permits and licenses from different Ministries and institutions.”
Production Policies Make Great Contribution on the Increase of Mineral Exports
Dinçer, underlining that there are various mineral sites in Turkey, of which the out coming raw materials are also being processed in Turkey, said: “Some mines require factories. Not only mineral producers but also industrialists and group companies are encouraged to do these kinds of investments. Mining companies should be considered as companies, which reveal our mines and supply them on the market. As in the removal of the mine from the underground, the processing process requires different investments and experience. Therefore, we believe that the policies of the miners that increase the production will make great benefit for the growth of export rates.
