Interest in Shuitou and Yunfu fairs in China, which is the leading purchasing country for block exports, is getting smaller every other year. Turkish natural stone sector had participated in Shuitou stone Fair with 68 companies in 2015. However, there were only 17 Turkish Companies in the 2017 edition of the Fair.
The 18th China Shuitou International Stone Fair was held at the Shuitou New International Exhibition Center between November 8-11. National Participation Organization of the Istanbul Mineral Exporters Association (İMİB) from Turkey participated in the show with 17 companies. According to the information obtained from the fair officials, the fair organized in Shuitou, which has great importance for Turkish natural stone sector, was visited by 83 thousand 621 people. In the Fair, there were participants from countries such as China (583), Turkey (17), India (1), Iran (20), Italy (6) and Greece (1).The number of participants which was 862 last year reduced to 628 in 2017. Countries such as Vietnam, Pakistan, the UAE, Spain, Portugal and Egypt, which took place in the fair last year, did not participate in the fair this year.

Commemoration for the Great Leader Atatürk
As it was in the past years, participants of the fair stood in silence on the 10th of November in commemoration of the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. İMİB distributed T-shirts with Atatürk print to the participants and hung a giant poster of Ataturk in the fair. At 09.05 with Turkish time, the Great Leader Atatürk was remembered with respect on his 78th death anniversary in Shuitou.
Four Turkish Companies in Yunfu
The Yunfu Stone Fair, which is held every October, was held at the International Expo Center on 23-26 November this year. Only İvme Mermer, Sezgin Marble, Pasifik Marble and Focus Marble companies from Turkey participated in the Fair.
