Mevlüt Kaya, the Chairman of the Board of Aegean Mineral Exporters Association, who stated that the members had spent a hectic election process said: “We want to meet with our members in the cities, where clustering has taken place, in order to listen to their problems and find solutions.”
Kaya; “We Need to Sell Value Added Natural Stone Products”
Kaya, stating that the mineral sector needs to sell products with high added value said: “We have no chance to replace what we take from the nature, so we need to sell our natural stone products with high added value. We should do what Italy and Spain do. In order to achieve this, we need to act together with Turkey Marble and Natural Stone Machinery Producers Association, İstanbul Mineral Exporters’ Association and the 11 Civil Society Organizations with which we have organized the “Our life is Mineral” workshop.”
Supports of the Ministry of Economy
Alirıza Oktay, the Head of Department of Mineral, Metal and Forestry Products of the Ministry of Economy stated that the Ministry of Economy is an authority, which serves to a foreign trade chain that includes investment, production and branding. “The Ministry of Economy provides many supports from fair organizations, branding, investment promotion, market research and certification support, and I believe that the mineral exporters will achieve good work with the support of the Ministry of Economy in the coming period.”
Gül Şener: “The Marble Fair Will Celebrate Its 25th Year With Extraordinary Activities.”
IZFAŞ General Manager Gül Şener, who stated that İzmir Marble Natural Stone and Technologies Fair, which is one of the two biggest fairs in the world, will be organized for the 25th time in 2019. General Manager Şener stated that the 25th year of the fair will be celebrated with special activities that befit the dignity of the fair. It is explained that some of these activities will be organized once in every 25 years, and some of them will continue in the coming years. Şener said: “We want to do projects with architects in order to increase the share of processed products in marble sector. Our mission is to develop this sector and evaluate the natural stone reserves of our country. I promise to end product manufacturers in Afyon that we will help them exhibit their products in İzmir Marble Fair. It would be very meaningful if we can promote the products of these end product producers via a design competition. We need to encourage them to continue producing end products.”
Eximbank is the insurance of Turkish exporter in 238 countries
Türk Eximbank Aegean Region Manager Ferhat Fırat, who stated that Türk Eximbank provided $ 39 billion in exports in 2017, specifically underlined the importance of export credit insurances. Fırat said: “We provide insurance service for Turkish exporters who make trade in 238 countries outside of Cyprus, North Korea and Armenia. You can underwrite your products with 2 per thousand premium. Eximbank pays 90% of your export income in case of risk. Mineral sector is one of the sectors that benefit Turkish Eximbank credits. We supply credit to SME’s in Turkish currency with 6.84 percent while the foreign currency credits start from 0.40 Libor plus.”
Technical Visit to Italy
Osman Uysal, a member of the Board of Directors of the Aegean Mineral Exporters Association, demanded exhibition space for end product producers from Afyon in İzmir Marble Fair.
The Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Aegean Mineral Exporters Association İbrahim Alimoğlu announced that they will organize a Trade Delegation Organization to Verona Fair for SME class companies which had not been in Verona Fair before. Alimoğlu also stated that they would organize technical trips to Italy in order to increase processed natural stone exports.
