Kardem is a company founded in 2015 and is managed by two partners, Kazım Demircanlı and Zeynel Karabulut, who have many years of experience in the sector. The company stands out with its approach focused on quality, reliability and business discipline. Its core values include not compromising on quality, adopting advanced technology and ensuring customer satisfaction. In line with these values, it offers world-class cutting solutions with domestic production. In this interview with the founders of the company, we had the opportunity to get to know Kardem’s place in the industry, its core values and future goals more closely.
What is the founding story of your company and how did you gain your place in the industry?
Kardem is a company established in 2015. We founded this company as two partners. We both already had many years of industry experience. Afterwards, we wanted to direct our energy to a company of our own, and this is how Kardem emerged. As I just mentioned, since we both came from the sector, we made an introduction by analyzing the details and deficiencies of the sector, and in the ongoing process, we used quality, reliability and business discipline as our motivation and actively devoted time to fairs, including the domestic and foreign markets. We have gained a wide place in the sector. Now, we continue to expand our existing place with the same motivation and experience.
What are the core values of your company and how are these values reflected in the design and production processes of your products?
We can list more than one criterion among our core values, but at this point our essentials are; We can say that we do not compromise on quality, adopting advanced technology in every field, business discipline and the customer satisfaction it brings. By keeping our quality at the highest level at every stage of our production and design process, we are able to offer our customers world-class cutting solutions with domestic production. The use of advanced technology allows us to stay up to date in the development process of our products and at the same time maintain our principles of efficiency and precision at a high level. While business discipline maintains our motivation and focus on our work throughout this process, it also ensures that each product is meticulously tested and offered to customers at the highest quality, thus building customer satisfaction with confidence and making it easier to successfully meet and exceed customer expectations at every step of these processes. In fact, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that they are all integral parts of a whole. We see them all as a chain.
Could you tell us about your approach to research and development? What is the thought process behind your innovative products?
We adopt an innovative approach to research and development. The basis of this approach are elements such as following sectoral developments, accurately analyzing customer demands and making future predictions. We also try to follow new trends and technological innovations closely by participating in all industry-related fairs. Thus, together with our R&D department, we plan how we can integrate the ideas we have acquired or the deficiencies we see into our company and our country in a more beneficial way. Customer feedback is also of great importance to us in this process. Because we can say that different opinions help us improve existing products or support the innovation process by offering completely new solutions. Thus, while we bring what is new in the world to Turkey, we can say that we are trying to make the first innovations in the world.
What is your company’s newest product or product series? What innovations does this product/series offer? Can you write it with its properties?
Kardem currently has many new products, but when we look at the prominent ones, the first thing that comes to mind is our SMARTCUT CNC Bridge Cutting Machine. These machines increase production capacity by minimizing manpower in the production process and also provide energy savings. In addition, CNC machines open up an area for the production of more precise and higher quality products. This brings efficiency. This is an important element when we look at it from a customer-oriented perspective, because it accelerates the production process as it can make smoother cuts thanks to its high precision, and it also saves time in the work process with its automation features. At the same time, another notable feature of our machine is the use of inox and dip galvanization in the production phase. Thus, we increase the lifespan of the machines by 3 times and ensure that they are long-lasting and durable. This returns to us as satisfaction at the end of the day.
Which markets do you operate in? Who are your target customer base?
In fact, we are present in every market where marble, granite, natural stone and artificial stone are used. When we look at it from this perspective, we can say that the marble cutting sector is among Kardem’s main markets. When we want to narrow this down to something specific, the first thing we come across is the construction field, but of course this sector has a much wider range. Our target customer group is primarily marble factories and marble workshops. We help our customers obtain quality products with the special solutions we offer. This also allows us to expand our customer portfolio day by day.
How does your company contribute to the industry and what difference does it make compared to other companies in the industry?
The issue we attach most importance to in this field is sustainability. Because this sector is actually very prone to waste of natural resources, and we want to prevent this somehow. We believe we do this in the following way; First of all, as we mentioned before, we minimize stone waste thanks to our machines that can cut more precisely. This supports our customers to work more efficiently, reduces costs and helps them use our resources more sustainably. On the other hand, with our product group called blasting and mosaic machines, we make broken stones, which we call ‘waste’, reusable and enable them to be implemented in creative projects. Thus, a recycling process is supported. We believe that this point of view is where we differ from other companies.
Considering the rapid changes in the industry, what are your future product development strategies?
As Kardem, we always take into consideration the rapid changes in the industry and our interest in software and automation takes a large share of our product development strategies. We are all familiar with concepts such as industry 4.0 or digital transformation brought by the age, and most companies have now incorporated this in some way, and we are one of them. We believe that companies moving in this direction are more competitive in their sectors. Therefore, we are focusing on implementing much more advanced versions of our future products in terms of software. In addition, developing products for unmanned systems in the changing world that we are all witnessing is among our strategies. By closely following the innovations especially in the field of robot technology and artificial intelligence, it is among our goals to produce machines that operate with high precision without the need for human power in most areas. While doing all of these, we aim to gradually grow our place and power in the sector by adapting our customer-oriented approach, which is the most important factor, to the future without changing it
