With the introduction of the BE-X electric forklift range, HD Hyundai XiteSolution Material Handling is increasing its appeal in the compact market. The range offers users a highly cost-effective material handling solution without the need for intensive use. It includes two standard canopy machines with 1.6—and 2.0-tonne capacities and three cab models with 2.5, 3.0, and 3.5-tonne capacities.
Proven conventional flat-cell batteries or optional lithium-ion batteries Highly energy-efficient motor axles that reduce electricity consumption Single motor axle with IP54 motor for outdoor environments Ergonomically designed operator’s cab with adjustable steering column Multiple systems for optimum operational safety
16/20BE-X
The 16BE-X and 20BE-X models have a maximum rated capacity of 1.6 and 2.0 tonnes respectively. Weighing 3,323 kg and 3,677 kg, the trucks can be configured with a two-stage mast or a three-stage free-lift mast. The maximum height of the forks is 3,000-5,000 mm for the two-stage mast and 4,000-6,000 mm for the three-stage mast.
Although aimed at customers where intensive utilization is not expected, the compact BE-Xs offer outstanding productivity. The two BE-X machines with the best energy efficiency in the category are equipped with a motor axle that is 8.7 dB lower than the previous B-9F machine, resulting in 12 percent energy savings and lower noise.
Both machines are equipped with a single traction axle fitted with an IP54-rated motor, allowing outdoor use in all weather conditions. The low chassis provides a low center of gravity with the batteries positioned between the front and rear wheels. The machines are available with a lead-acid battery with a capacity of 420 Ah or a LiFePo4 lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 300 Ah. The latter allows two hours of fast charging for two or more shift tasks. The batteries can be recharged on the machine via a door on the side of the machine or by pallet trucking the battery out of the special compartment for side extraction.
25/30/35BE-X
Hyundai’s 25BE-X, 30BE-X, and 35BE-X HD models have operating weights of 4,484 kg, 4,947 kg, and 5,272 kg, respectively. They have rated load capacities of 2.5, 3.0, and 3.5 tonnes. They can be configured with a two-stage mast with a maximum fork height of 3,005-5,005 mm or a two-stage high free-lift mast or high free-lift mast with a fork height of 2,955-3,455 mm. A fork height of 4,305-6,005 mm completes the three stages.
The design of these heavier models also focuses on energy efficiency, such that the engines save 8.2 percent compared to Series 9F machines. In addition, these models have single-wheel drive axles and IP54 motors for indoor and outdoor use and a noise reduction of 6.5 dB compared to the previous generation.
A 48V 600Ah battery pack powers the 25BE-X, while the two larger models use 80V 500Ah batteries. Lithium-ion batteries can also be selected for this model, allowing fast charging and long-term operation.
Operator comfort
Like all HD Hyundai XiteSolution machines, the trucks are equipped as standard with comfortable, full-suspension operator positions with Grammer seats. Control levers are within easy reach to the right of the operator, reducing physical effort compared to more common dash-mounted levers. The flat-design batteries help to lower the floor and operator’s seat so that the first step is approximately 98 mm lower than on a conventional truck. Steering is hydraulically assisted, and the steering column can be tilted forward or backward according to the operator.
BE-X trolleys are equipped with an anti-tipping system that prevents the machine from traveling backward when the accelerator or brake pedal is not used, even on particularly sloping terrain. The system also simplifies operation on ramps. Also standard is the operator presence sensing system (OPSS), which turns off translation and lifting operations when the operator leaves the driver’s seat.
Driving speed limits can be set to suit the working environment via the multifunctional monitor at the operator station. The machines offer three operating modes with separate traveling and lifting speeds, as well as a turtle mode that reduces the maximum speed in set mode.
Optional safety features include limiting the traveling speed to 3 km/h when traveling with lifted loads over 500 mm. The front and rear cameras can be configured with a two-channel monitor, a rear grab bar with a horn, and a set of LED work and safety signaling lights.
The missing market solution
Based on HD Hyundai XiteSolution’s many years of experience, BE-X machines include all the technology and quality that every customer needs, such as waterproof and dustproof key switches and sealed micro switches that prevent malfunctions in the hydraulic system of the control levers when working in dusty environments. The BE-X models reveal all of Hyundai HD’s qualities in every detail. However, it is the robustness that sets them apart from the company’s other high-end machines, making these cars particularly suitable for those who are mindful of costs.
The BE-X models are perfect for companies that do not have intensive operations with cars as their main requirement. Although it guarantees high productivity even while demanding long shifts, the BE-X truck range represents an excellent alternative at a lower purchase price, allowing you to enjoy the renowned quality of the Hyundai XiteSolution HD machine.
