Coante, is the quartz investment by Ermaş Marble, which has gained a good reputation in natural
stone sector with its innovative, productive, reliable identity, human and environment-focused
approach since 1985 The brand has displayed the quality of quartz in İzmir Marble Fair. Coante
General Manager Kenan Erdem said that they were very happy with the attention they received at
the fair. Erdem said: “I believe that we will see the Coante brand in many of the world’s kitchen,
bathroom and interior applications“

Erdem, saying that Coante aims to be a popular brand in the global market through technology, R &
D and qualified personnel investments, informed us about the decline in America’s quartz purchases
from China after the extra tax applied along with its effects on Turkish stone market as follows:
“We export most of our natural stone production to America. You can do two things in America.
You will compete with either price or innovation. We made a huge investment. Such a large
investment can not be focused in price but value. In order to be value-oriented, we need to be able
to produce products that we can offer that value. And we did it. How did we do that? What is
important is that what you produce to progress towards your goals. We have been exporting to
America for six months and the volume of our exports have been increasing continuously. This is
motivating us even more. Looking at the feedbacks we receive, we realize that we are on the right
path. If there is high interested for a product in the sector, and if you are producing quality products,
the right purchasers are sure to come and find you.”
We are Working Hard
Erdem said: “We make business with European and Middle Eastern countries outside the US. We
are investing in the products that will add value to Turkish economy. In this sense, America is not
our only focus market. There are European countries and Middle Eastern countries. It is not
possible to sell to the whole world. Otherwise, you have to meet many different demands from
different buyers. So, you have to have enough supply to offer. We select countries and firms in a
way to spread the risk. In one and a half years, we produced about 50 products. We are constantly
trying to produce innovative products that will further increase the competition. If I can do this,
someone else will come and try to do this, and he will have to sell it at more competitive prices than
at more reasonable prices. I need to be able to add something on my products constantly,”
