Chen Guoqing: Two Proposals for the Industry at the 20th Anniversary Event of the Shangshi Association

Chen Guoqing, President of the China Stone Association, attended the 20th anniversary event of the Shanghai Stone Industry Association, sharing important proposals and requirements for the development of the sector. According to President Chen’s speech, the stone industry has faced a series of challenges due to a century of changes and the impact of global pandemics.

President Chen, while analyzing the current situation in the sector, noted that the decline in production and the decrease in operating income have increased the work pressure in the sector. However, he also emphasized that the stone industry is progressing by focusing on product and technological innovation, and striving to accelerate green, smart, high-level development.

President Chen’s proposals for the sector are as follows:

Expand the Application of Stone Products and Improve Quality:
- Efforts to expand the application of stone products with new ideas and methods.
- Efforts to expand application areas to better reflect natural advantages and improve product quality.
- Efforts to develop product instructions and quality traceability standards to overcome information asymmetry and challenges in quality monitoring.
Adhere to Dual Carbon and Promote Green Industry:
- Focus on energy conservation, pollution reduction, and carbon reduction.
- Efforts to reduce carbon emissions by reducing energy consumption and promoting the use of green energy.
- Efforts to promote “zero carbon” and “carbon-negative” industries and to build “Six-Zero” factory parks.
