Istanbul Mineral Exporters’ Association (İMİB), organized a delegation to Indonesia, and Malaysia within the 16. UR-GE.014 Turkish Natural Stones Cluster-1 Project. Representatives of the natural stone industry, which met with 50 purchasers in the scope of the meeting, which was attended by 11 different UR-GE companies, carried out important business negotiations in Indonesia, where $ 8.2 million natural stone exports were made in 2017.
İMİB, which works to contribute to the development of the mineral sector by promoting the natural stone products in the existing and target markets, improving the image and increasing the export potential, organized an important event in the past days. The representatives of the natural stone sector, who made meetings with 50 buyer companies within the scope of the delegation realized with the participation of 11 different UR-GE companies, signed important agreements.
Dinçer: We Will Continue Export-Oriented Growth Strategy
Aydın Dinçer, the Chairman of the Istanbul Mineral Exporters’ Association (İMİB), underlined that the Turkish companies that participated in the delegation had the opportunity to meet important companies and make business connections. Aydın Dinçer stated that, as İMİB, their aim is to protect the position of Turkish companies in markets where mineral exports are high. He said that they are working intensively in order to access to new markets and getting a share from these markets.
Trade Mission Organization to be Held in Every Two Months
Dinçer explained that, Indonesia, which had imported natural stone worth of 79 million dollars in 2017, is the 22nd country in the list of countries that export natural stone from Turkey. He said that the Indonesian natural stone sector that purchased natural stone with value of 93.3 million in total in 2017, imported 8,2 million dollars valued natural stone from Turkey in 2017. As Dinçer explained, Malaysia is the 55th country in the list of countries that export natural stone from Turkey. The value of Turkey’s natural stone to Malaysia was 2,18 million dollars in 2017. Dinçer said: “The commercial contacts that were established in the framework of trade delegations reflected positively on export figures. In the following periods, following three or four months of work, we plan to organize sectoral trade delegations to some target countries in every two months.”
