Mineral exporters Chose to Continue with Mevlüt Kaya

Mevlüt Kaya was elected to be the Chairman of Aegean Mineral Exporters’ Association again, by 227 votes. In the General Meeting of Aegean Mineral Exporters’ Association which was held in Izmir Chamber of Architects, three lists competed with each other for the first time in its history. While blue list in which the candidate was Mevlüt Kaya, the Chairman of Aegean Mineral Exporters’ Association in the period of 2014-18 won the election by 227 votes, red list in which the candidate was Şener Bayyurt got 200 votes. White list in which the candidate was Halil Öksüz got 72 votes. 6 votes were regarded as invalid.

“Keep on working for the sector”

In his speech after general meeting, Mevlüt Kaya, Chairman of the Aegean Mineral Exporters’ Association, said that this election was dignified and he promised that in the upcoming years, the board will work its fingers to the bone in order to solve the problems of mineral sector. Kaya said that “We will do development of international competencies projects in order to increase the export of products with added value. With Turkish Exporters Assembly, we will make an effort for the solutions of problems in sector.”

 Who is Mevlüt Kaya?

Mevlüt Kaya, Chairman of Aegean Mineral Exporters’ Association, was born in 1951, Konya. After high school, he dropped out of the university in Denmark to start working. After working 3 years in Denmark, he came back to Turkey and started his business life. Mevlüt Kaya carries on a business in natural stone sector for 35 years as Chairman of İZKO Marble. Mevlüt Kaya who was in Establishment Committee of Aegean Mineral Exporters’ Association, was elected as Chairman of Aegean Mineral Exporters’ Association in 2014. Apart from those positions, Kaya was a member of assembly of Aegean Region Chamber of Industry and İZFAŞ Executive Board. Right now, he is also member of Executive Board of Turkish Marble, Natural Stone and Machinery Manufacturers Association and Turkish Exporters’ Assembly Sector Council. Mevlüt Kaya who was re-elected as Chairman of Aegean Mineral Exporters’ Association on April, 26 2018 can speak Danish fluently and English midlevel. Kaya is married and has a child.
