Istanbul Mineral Exporters Association (İMİB), working towards promoting natural stone products in existing and target markets, continues to organize sectoral committee organizations.
Argentine
İMİB, which aims to introduce Turkish natural stone to the world via sectoral delegation organizations, organized a delegation for Chile and Argentina. 9 participant companies and 14 company representatives from Santiago city of Chile and Buenos Aires city of Argentine signed important business contacts. On the first day of the event, representatives had bilateral meetings with 19 local purchasing companies in Santiago. On the second day they paid a technical visit to companies in Santiago. The Ambassador of Republic of Turkey to Argentine participated in the bilateral business meetings that took place in Buenos Aires with the participation of 14 Argentine companies.

The next route of the sectoral delegation trips was held in the city of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates between 15-18 April 2019. The first day of the event, which was participated by 24 company representatives from 14 participant companies, was held in Sheraton Grand Hotel Dubai. More than 200 bilateral business meetings were held with 30 local purchasing companies. On the second day of the event, representatives of the participating companies, followed the presentations about the business opportunities, projects and market dynamics in the United Arab Emirates and the Gulf Arab countries by Dubai Trade Attaché Mr. Ali Önal, Tabanlıoğlu Architecture’s partner Alper Alhan and the General Manager of Ventures Middle East, Mibu John,. Some of the delegates visited the warehouses in Sharjah and made interviews. Turkish Consul General İlker Yalçın Altay and Dubai Commercial Attaché Hasan Önal and Mr. Ahmet Canlı met with the companies.

The trade delegation, which took place in the Indian town of Kishangarh on April 21-26, 2019, was attended by 13 exhibitors and 16 company representatives. Within the scope of the delegation, bilateral meetings were held with the purchasing companies in the ın Ramada Ajmer Hotel. Within the scope of the site visits organized on 23 and 25 April 2019, the participants visited eight buyers and had one-to-one meetings. Visitors, who participated to the bilateral meetings held on April 24th had the opportunity to experience the products and qualities exhibited in special units.

İMİB organized a sectoral trade delegation to London City of the U.K. with the participation of 12 natural stone producer and project applier companies between the dates of 29 April – 3 May 2019 Over 100 Bilateral Business Negotiations Visiting companies, within the delegation program, participated in an architectural excursion, which was carried out in order to observe the use the natural stone in the historical development of the British architecture and to analyse the architecture of the last period. Then the Turkish Trade Center in London was visited. During the visit, detailed information was received about Turkish Trade Center and related Government Supports. The delegation visited “The Natural Stone Show” which was held in London Excel. They visited the Ambassador of Turkey to London, Ümit Yalçın in his office and discussed some issues about the sector. More than 100 bilateral business meetings were held with the participation of 26 architecture, interior design and contracting companies in the Royal Institute of British Architect Building meeting room.

The Union organized a natural stone industry trade delegation in May with the participation of 21 exhibitors and 28 company representatives in Ho Chi Minh City of Vietnam and Taipei City of Taiwan in May 19-25, 2019. Participants visited the three companies operating in Ho Chi Minh City during the first day of the event. They had bilateral business meetings with local purchasing companies in Park Hyatt Saigon Hotel on May 21. 21 local companies participated in bilateral business meetings at Hilton Hotel Sinban. During the bilateral business meetings, Mr. Murat Baklacı, the representative of Taipei Turkish Trade Office visited the delegation and gave information to the companies about the market. On the last day of the event, the participating companies made a technical visit to the six buyer companies in Taipei, met with the authorities and visited the warehouses, showrooms and factories.
